Resolving Markets
Guide for market issuers on how to resolve markets after maturity.
Who Can Resolve?
Only the market issuer (the address that created the market) can resolve the market. This is enforced by the smart contract.
When to Resolve
You can resolve a market only after the maturity date has passed. The market status will change from "InProgress" to "MaturityReached".
There's no deadline for resolution, but resolving promptly builds trust and allows participants to claim their winnings.
Resolution Outcomes
- Outcome 1 (YES wins): The credit event DID occur
- Outcome 0 (NO wins): The credit event did NOT occur
How to Resolve
- Connect the wallet that created the market
- Find the market in your "My Markets" section
- Click "Resolve Market"
- Select the outcome (YES or NO)
- Confirm the transaction
Alternatively, use the Admin Panel that appears when you have markets ready for resolution.
After Resolution
Once resolved:
- The market status changes to "Resolved"
- Winning token holders can claim their ETH
- Losing tokens become worthless
- The resolution cannot be changed
Warning: Resolution is permanent and irreversible. Double-check the outcome before confirming.
Best Practices
- Resolve promptly after maturity
- Be honest - your reputation affects future markets
- Document evidence for disputed outcomes
- Communicate with participants if needed
Claiming as Issuer
If NO wins (event didn't occur), you can claim your NO token rewards:
- Go to your Portfolio
- Find your NO token position
- Click "Claim" to receive your ETH
